Since the age of 8, I have been immersed in the world of World Taekwondo, training alongside my family. My journey began in the Kids Taekwondo Program, where I received invaluable support from instructors and assistants. With their guidance, I grew more confident in my abilities and transitioned into the youth and adult classes by the age of 11.
Initially, the longer classes and more challenging training sessions were daunting. However, I embraced the struggle as an opportunity for growth. My older sister Abigail, who had started in the adult class before me, played a crucial role in my development. She helped me refine my techniques and encouraged me to practice outside of the training centre, ensuring I could always put forth my best effort.
In the years leading up to earning my black belt, our family continued to train together, enhancing our skills and supporting one another. Achieving my black belt alongside my family fills me with immense pride, knowing that we accomplished this milestone together.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Grand Master Wahid Halimee for all his help and support throughout my training, as well as to Instructor Jake Newmarch. I could not have reached this goal without their guidance and the encouragement from the other black belts within our World Taekwondo club.
